Out by the shores of the beautiful Charlevoix region, in the middle of the majestic Saint-Lawrence River, lies a genuine paradise, the Isle-aux-Coudres. Over the years, it was populated by families of farmers and sailors, whom, in a most noble way, opened up the way to today’s islanders, leaving them a legacy of pride and belonging.

On the south-western headland of the island, where the sea borders the hills, stands the hotel-motel Les Voitures d'Eau.

In this typically coastal setting, the Perron family and its dedicated employees welcome you in the magic beauty of the unique place, rich with insular traditions of friendliness and hospitality.

When staying at the Voitures d’Eau, in this enchanting decor of saline breeze and breathtaking scenery, you will find the

relaxing atmosphere of island life. Discover a family atmosphere in the warmth of a coastal inn with every modern convenience.

In the back of the hotel, the Perron family built a belvedere and an observatory, standing at more than 100 feet above sea level, and a museum paying tribute to the maritime history of the island. The observatory offers a superb point of view on three distinct tourist regions and is accessible by car.

Created in 1973, the museum is dedicated to yesterday's navigation on the Saint-Lawrence River.

For a long time, the island was populated with families of sailors, whom, during the warm seasons, took care of the transportation of goods between the different villages bordering the river and the bigger cities, such

as Quebec City, Trois-Rivières and Montréal.

Captain Eloi Perron remains one of the last witnesses of this era.

In his museum, he gathered for future generations many souvenirs of those epic years. When discovering these collection pieces, you will relive a period of Quebec’s history marked by the fancies of a nature that was as rude as it was demanding for those courageous islanders.

The hotel-motel Les Voitures d’eau serves high quality cuisine in its dinning room, La Marinière, and offers many interesting packages to make your stay a most memorable one.
